Maine Cancer Guest Navigation Program (MCGNP)

For 30 years, Hospitality Homes has provided free, temporary housing in volunteer host homes for families traveling to Boston for medical care.

The grant funds awarded to Hospitality Homes will be used to implement a Maine Cancer Guest Navigation Program (MCGNP) to assist with the multiple challenges that patients and their families face while in Boston.

By providing guests with a warm welcome, assistance in navigating the city, important information, knowledge about community support resources and programs, and special accommodations, the MCGNP will help reduce guest concerns and make their stay in Boston as comfortable and accessible as possible. Moreover, because information will be obtained and questions answered by a single knowledgeable Guest Navigator (GN), guests will be relieved from devoting their energies to stressful, time-consuming, information-gathering tasks and, instead, be able to focus their attention on their loved ones.
