Sun Safety on the Slopes

This project will train ski and snowboard instructors at three Maine ski resorts on sun safe behaviors, risks, and prevention. Instructors will be provided with 5-minute lessons which they will then share within their ski schools.

Peer-Led Tobacco Cessation Training at Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse

Peer-Led Tobacco Cessation Training at Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse is an evidence-based intervention program that will target PCHC patients struggling with tobacco dependence and mental illness. Our innovative approach will be implemented at Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse, Penobscot Community Health Cre's community-based, social/vocational program for people with mental illness.

Tobacco Prevention, Education, and Cessation Support for Adults in Androscoggin County

Healthy Androscoggin, in collaboration with the Dempsey Center, will expand our tobacco treatment and cessation efforts to increase sustainability, capacity, and involvement with the community by increasing our quit support programs and groups through improved relationships with work-sites and the community-at-large.

Cancer Prevention: Building Capacity in Primary Care to Address Tobacco Dependence

The proposed project will embed the Maine Tobacco Helpline “Direct Messaging” referral feature into the Electronic Health Records of participating practices, and provide training, feedback and technical assistance to clinicians in these practices, which are members of the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization.

The Maine Lung Cancer Prevention and Screening (Maine LungCAPS) Initiative

Overview
In June 2016, Maine Cancer Foundation awarded Maine Medical Center a $400,000 grant over four years for The Maine Lung Cancer Prevention and Screening (Maine LungCAPS) Initiative.  Maine LungCAPS is a multi-institution, multi-disciplinary collaboration of Maine health care providers and stakeholders.
